Slickdeals surveyed 1,105 Americans to gather insights on their plans for Valentine's Day shopping this year. Although 24% of survey respondents claimed that inflation will have a strong impact on their Valentine's Day plans this year, shoppers are still planning to spend on gifts, experiences, and more. Of those surveyed, 51% are planning to spend about the same as they did last year while 27% look to increase their budget for the the holiday.
Food items, such as chocolates, candy, and pre-made gourmet baskets, ranked as the top category gifters plan to shop this year (71%) with clothing & shoes (48%) and personal care products (44%) trailing behind. Other categories include cooking & baking products like grills and kitchen appliances as well as gift cards, home goods, and sports & outdoor equipment.
